HERITAGE TOURING CARS NZ
December 15th 2024

Welcome to HTCNZ

We have established a diverse grid of vehicles that celebrates the glory days of Touring Cars from the 1970's through to the early 2000's that will provide a quality spectacle for drivers and public alike.   Embracing genuine overseas and NZ Touring Cars as well as National Championship Vehicles, sympathetic replicas and tribute vehicles with both an aesthetic and performance that doesn’t conflict with their vehicle’s original era.

The class includes cars from 1970s Group 2, ETCC, 1980s Groups A, N and C, BTCC, Super Tourer, Super Production, NZTC and National championship vehicles.

Who doesn’t love a fire breathing turbo Sierra or GTR Skyline, being chased by down by a BTCC Nissan, or the growl of V8 Commodore or 635CSI, or the scream of a M3 and RX7 side by side at 10,000rpm….its all great stuff.

We have seen large diverse grids previously at NZFMR (NZ Festival of Motor Racing) meetings at Hampton Downs and more recently at the Supercar Farewell at Pukekohe.

The cars are driven in a manner which enhances the spectacle, promotes the vehicles, and minimises risk of damage to these very rare cars. But don’t be misled, these are cars are fast and driven with purpose, with lap times that would have them competitive in the Muscle Cars or GTRNZ grids.

The class is built on a foundation having fun racing these epic cars, and we know the fans love them too. The class is by invitation and application for membership include both a vehicle and driver review.  This is definitely a non-contact class as respect between drivers is critical. Everything is done transparently, and we want all members to feel they are part of something pretty special.

We have 4 meetings planned

· MG Classic Manfeild 8-10 Nov 2024

· Historic GP Taupo 10-12 Jan 2025

· Legends of Speed Hampton 24-26 Jan 2025

· Single Seater Festival Taupo 26-27 April 2025

The April meeting being a combined grid with the HVRA class with a celebration dinner on the Sat night.

This season the class is being supported by two companies from within the members.

1. Supreme Blast and Paint

2. Manawatu Pothole Maintenance
