The New Zealand BMW Race Driver Series was established in 2006 by a passionate group of members from the BMW Car Club of New Zealand. Their vision was to create and promote a cost-effective racing series that delivered fast-paced, competitive, and exciting wheel-to-wheel action. Since then, the series has grown to become New Zealand’s largest one-make racing category, attracting more than 100 competitors each season.

The Series caters to a wide range of drivers through several classes. The Open GT, A, B, and C classes feature minimal technical restrictions and are grouped according to lap times to ensure close and competitive racing. The E46 Class is a tightly regulated specification category where driver skill and vehicle setup are the key differentiators. The 2L Class is designed for lightweight BMWs with a maximum engine capacity of 2000cc, while the E30 Challenge provides an affordable entry point for competitors who enjoy the iconic BMW E30 platform.
