The Nexen Tyre Mazda Racing Super Series has been the heartbeat of Mazda racing in New Zealand since 1992, now marking over three decades at full throttle. As the first class sanctioned by Motorsport NZ and a Tier 1 Accredited Series, it delivers some of the closest, most competitive racing on the national calendar.

Mazda RX8s and RX7s go wheel-to-wheel in a true national competition, with results also tracked separately across the North and South Islands, adding extra storylines to every round. A tightly controlled rulebook keeps the grid level, so races are decided by skill and nerve rather than budget - the reason so many of New Zealand's best-known drivers made their names here first.

The RX8 class took off after its introduction in 2014-15, and it's now the largest, fastest-growing field in both islands, promising big grids and hard-fought battles for years to come.
