This event celebrates the rich history of motorsport, with Formula Atlantics delivering intense on-track action alongside captivating off-track displays. Joining them is Formula Racing, as these iconic cars battle fiercely for the coveted 2026 Historic GP title.
Alongside the Formula Atlantics and Formula Racing, fans can enjoy historic categories such as HVRA Saloons, Arrow Wheels Heritage Touring Cars NZ, Classic Saloons, and EURO Class, while the Castrol Toyota Formula Regional Oceania Trophy nods to the future stars of motorsport.

For the first time ever, the Repco NextGen NZ Championship proudly presents the inaugural Formula Atlantic New Zealand Grand Prix Double-Header, at Giltrap Group Taupo Historic GP and the NAPA 70th New Zealand Grand Prix at Highlands Motorsport Park. The Formula Atlantic feature race winner will be awarded the Tim Miles Memorial Trophy, honouring one of New Zealand motorsport’s greats.
And this year, celebrating Euromarque takes centre stage! We’re calling all European car owners to register and bring their pride and joy to showcase it alongside a spectacular weekend of racing.
Expect a weekend packed with excitement, including show and shines, demonstration laps, engaging displays, and the fan-favourite Grid Walk.
A1 Team New Zealand’s legendary Black Beauty is back at Giltrap Group Taupō Historic GP on track 17–18 January at Taupō International Motorsport Park.
Driven by original star Jonny Reid, the restored A1GP car will complete demo laps across the weekend as part of the Giltrap Group’s 60th Anniversary celebrations.
